What is Human Capital ROI?
With the acceptance of company-sponsored wellness programs now far beyond the Tipping Point, the topic of return of investment (ROI) seems to be cropping up again and again.
Many observers and practitioners have an innate belief that improved wellness leads to greater productivity, less absenteeism, and reduced health costs. Others are inclined to want to prove any positive impact through data analysis.
An array of studies has been published through the years do purport to prove statistical validation of the ROI of wellness. Quite often, vendors and advocates speak of these figures as facts, in support of their products or views.
Few would disagree that good wellness programs, effectively designed and delivered have a positive effect on most employee populations.
But when it comes to the hard data – sometimes the numbers can be a stretch.
