Reporting of secret formula
MIAMI (CBS4) – I’ve never understood people who don’t like to share their recipes, but you can’t blame major corporations that protect their profits by keeping their secret recipes under lock and key.
But now, McDonald’s Executive Chef, Dan Coudreaut, has let the cat out of the bag, sharing the ingredients for the Big Mac’s special sauce.
It’s mostly mayo, mustard and sweet relish, with some white wine vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika added in.
I’m lovin’ it.
The two most famous secret recipes, though, remain mostly mysteries.
KFC mixes the spices for its finger-lickin’-good fried chicken in different locations and Colonel Sanders’ handwritten secret recipe is safely locked away in KFC’s vault.
Then there’s the biggie: the formula for Coca-Cola.
Only a handful of executives have known it since Coke was invented in the late eighteen hundreds. The formula is now in a vault that’s visible to visitors to the World of Coca-Cola exhibit in Atlanta.
Ironically, U.S. Coke is made with high-fructose corn syrup, while in other countries it’s made with sugar. A lot of people prefer that, so it’s easy to find imported Coke here in South Florida.
My son is always asking that I buy him Mexican Coke… so much for secret formulas.

It really does depend.
There are ten different "cards" as they are called by Fair Isaac on which your credit can be scored. Every inquiry does ding your score some. How much it is dinged is dependant on which "card" you are on. If you had a 720 the last time you checked, you are probably on a card that will result in a small ding to your score (3 - 7 points each inquiry). Inquiries are judged on a 12 month basis. On y...ounted as a single inquiry. This is so you can shop around for the best deal. It really is all a bit of a mystery as Fair Isaac has never released the formula for credit scoring. It is a highly protected secret. The only reason that I know this much about it is because I was a mortgage banker for a while and I went to a few seminars given by some credit reporting agencies and the credit bureaus.
1 free yearly from each of the 3 CRAs
You can get your reports from the three major Credit Reporting Agencies. (This is report only, not score.)
However, if you want your score, I would buy my score (the score comes with a report) from each of the three CRAs. I get them from /> Myfico.com also has information about what goes into your score (the scoring system is secret, so you won't get a formula, but you will get an idea). Remember, if it's not on your report (like savings account balance or income isn't), it's not part of your score.
Your CREDIT SCORE is NOT
Your credit score is calculated with a proprietary (i.e. trade secret) formula. FICO spent a lot of money developing and refining their scoring algorithm.
You can get your "private information" that's compiled by credit reporting agencies free once a year.
