Sustainability Rules – Questions From the Energy Points Webinar  June 4, 2011 – 02:48 pm
CORPORATE RESOURCES OVERVIEW AND SCRUTINY COMMITTEE Committee Report

Thank you to everyone who attended our first Webinar, focusing on how the Energy Points platform enables businesses to make quantitative and intuitive environmental sustainability decisions.

For those of you who were unable to attend, we had a lot of great questions about Energy Points and sustainability that we thought would be worth sharing with everyone. If you have a question that’s not addressed here, please feel free to contact us either through the comment section, or here.

On to the questions:

Q: “Is quantifying environmental sustainability really feasible and practical? ”

A: We believe it is – and have based our business on it. We quantify environmental sustainability by using primary energy, assigning the right values to ensure that resources are harvested as sustainability as possible. Out method aims at doing the environmental accounting in a way that is sufficiently accurate, capturing the complexity of the problem and translating it into practical and intuitive decision making.

This question is analogous to “Is quantifying food nutrition values feasible and practical? ” We see this as the same challenge – getting sufficiently accurate information for the right decision making, yet making it simple enough so that people will be able to work intuitively.

Bush in bed with enron when he was texas govenor

Early last October, members of the ninth grade girls' track team and the boys' football team at suburban Houston's Deer Park High School's north campus returned from practice reporting severe breathing problems. That day, Deer Park registered 251 parts of ozone per billion, more than twice the federal standard, and Houston surpassed Los Angeles as the smoggiest city in the United States.
O...'m supporting candidates I strongly believe in personally.'
In January 1999, Enron pitched in $50,000 to help pay for Bush's inaugural bash in Austin, Texas, after he won reelection for governor. Today, the polls show that George W. Bush has a better than even chance of winning the Presidential election. If he does, it is very likely Ken Lay will be pitching in for another inaugural bash.
