Short answer

An article in Rolling Stone (October 20, 1994) by Adam Miller called J. Philippe Rushton a 'professor of hate,' someone who 'takes money from an organization with a terrible past' (the Pioneer Fund, a foundation said to have an orientation toward eugenics). He is accused of being 'obsessed with intelligence and genetics' to the point of having 'racist' attitudes by Jeffrey Rosen and Charles Lane...t is precisely this set of relationships that elevates social science above and beyond empiricism in theory or racism in practice. For these reasons, Professor Rushton is and must be considered a valued member of both the academic and scientific communities to which he contributes. We need to be reminded that those truths held to be self-evident are those which are most in need of reexamination.

Going to HR

This only works if you work for a corporation big enough to have a Human Resources Department. If you work for a small company, I would just show up to work and do my job the best that I could. That is what a boss is looking for. The boss may never know what happened between you and your co-workers. They usually don't care what goes on away from the job. Big companies can afford a "social worker...ust say, "Hey, I was a little buzzed. Sorry" and just move on. Just go about your business and keep your head up high. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Go to work, do your job, get paid, pay your bills, take care of business regarding the alcohol. Your co-workers aren't any better than you, don't give them any reason to believe they have one up on you. You have a job, protect it and keep it.

Survival

What do you think the struggle for survival means, in spiritual terms?
The entire animal kingdom is constantly engaged in a fight for survival. Most animals spend their entire day looking for food, avoiding predators, and seeking shelter. Some exceptions:
1. Humans who are well off economically and can afford to have others take care of their survival needs. That covers just a small ...ival needs were met we could use our time for other kinds of evolution.
Instead what we have is overuse of resources by some, greed, indolence, exploitation, waste, and neglect of the most vulnerable people.
Maybe we were intentionally not given easy means of survival in order to learn the lesson of caring for one another---that we are a small part of the whole.
Just wondering.
