What is Human Resources main functions?

Montréal, Quebec-based Worldwide Who’s Who member Heather A. Reilly serves as the human resources director for one of entertainment’s most widely recognized brands, Cirque du Soleil. With a focus on leadership management, employee development and team building, she is responsible for the overall culture design for the company. Overseeing a team of 12 human resource advisers and technicians, she effectively manages human resource responsibilities for 1, 200 people involved in arena performances.

Ms. Reilly received a bachelor’s degree in education in 1988 from The University of British Columbia After gaining a professional background in education, she transitioned into a successful career in human resources and general management. She joined the entertainment industry in 1992 after gaining recognition for her leadership management contributions. A highlight of career was working for a nonprofit education organization, Up with People. She was in charge of tour logistics and operations, and received great satisfaction watching college students develop and grow.

For the past three years, Ms. Reilly has served as human resources director for Cirque du Soleil, a company that delivers stunning, dramatic performances in the circus arts and street entertainment vein. She has gained a profound understanding of people and credits her success to being able to work with a variety of dynamic individuals. She also attributes her success to her interest in facilitating people’s development, helping them become the best they can be.
