Candidates may look for jobs in human resources with HR departments of organizations or recruitment agencies which hire HR professionals. Organizations that have dedicated

human resources management departments may be operating in any area from real estate, construction, information technology, automotives, legal, banking, finance, insurance, telecom, manufacturing, and transportation etc. Jobs in human resources may be listed under any job title from HR executive, human resources assistant, HR manager, human resources associate, senior manager – human resources, VP – HR, and general manager – HR etc. Duties associated with human resources jobs include handling recruitments with or without supervision; scheduling training and preparing training material for employees of the organization; taking care of disciplinary issues as they may arise in the organization; handling employee grievances; taking care of payroll and salaries of staff; doing performance appraisals and promotions from time to time; interviewing candidates leaving the organization and making their exit process easier etc. An HR executive reports to the human resources manager. Candidates should have an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in human resources management. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Good communication skills and a friendly nature are two traits of successful human resources management professionals. Prior experience working in an HR department is advantageous. Ability to lead and motivate people is essential. Some employers may be seeking prior experience in use of HRMS software. Excellent communication skills or interpersonal ability are essential. Candidates applying to human resources assistant positions should have an excellent telephone manner and the ability to type at 45+ wpm. Employers may not offer supervisory positions to part timers. A valid driver’s license is essential for most jobs these days. Some organizations may want applicants to undergo criminal background check before offering employment. Candidates may look for human resources vacancies with job sites, recruiters, job search engines etc. Jobs in human resources are some of the best jobs in the industry with relatively lesser pressure. These jobs offer great career growth in the long run. Even if offered employment for human resources vacancies in other cities, candidates should definitely go for them. Some organizations may offer relocation assistance to professionals.
